At the reunion, many remembered breakfast wheat food. There were differences as to how it was processed and prepared. Sometimes it was simply soaked overnight and then cooked in the morning and served with molasses. Sometimes it was ground first, then soaked and cooked. One person said it was cooked with molasses. The consensus was that it wasn’t so bad– but it wasn’t so good either. It was eaten because that’s what there was, it was eaten because you had to, it was eaten because everyone ate it.
